Regional Business Partner network
NZTE and the Foundation for Research, Science and Technology’s business investment programme TechNZ have created a nationwide network of ‘regional business partners’ to help small businesses access information, funding, training and development services.
They will work with local businesses and provide a range of advice and access to funding and support focused on assisting them to grow their business. Support available includes:
- an assessment of business needs, which will help regional partners point businesses to appropriate information, advice, and support.
- NZTE Capability Development Vouchers, which the managers of eligible small businesses will be able to use as partial payment for the cost of management capability building services.
- research and development funding via the Foundation’s TechNZ programme of funds and services.
Their aim is to make it easier for small business owners and managers to understand what steps they should take to grow their business, and where to find information and assistance to do so.
NZTE encourage you to complete an assessment of your business using a tool such as the New Zealand Business Capability Assessment. This will help you develop a plan to grow your business, after which you can talk to local advisors about the best way to progress it.
The Regional Partner will be issuing Capability Development Vouchers as a means to help eligible businesses pay for services, such as training workshops, courses and business coaching. They will provide part-funded support of up to 50% towards eligible costs for business management training, with businesses receiving a maximum of $5,000 a year.
All workshops offered by BDO are NZTE approved capability development workshops so qualify for the use of vouchers issued by NZTE Regional Partners. As such you may qualify for a 50% discount on your training.
